One of the largest attractions in Virginia City is the Comstock Cemetary where over 5000

people are buried. This cemetary is one of three cemetaries in Virginia City and is part of the Silver Terrace Cemetaries.

The cemetary has been the victim of grave robbers and neglect for over 100 years. The Comstock Cemetary Foundation states

that even today one object a day is stolen from the cemetary - making it impossible to even locate the majority of the graves.
